O’Neil Blake, Experienced Football Player/Coach: Demonstrating Leadership

O’Neil Blake, current football player and coach for the Graz Giants, continually brings a sense of calm and confidence to the field. This is an attribute that not only serves to inspire his teammates on a daily basis, but that sets him apart as a leader; as someone that can always be looked to and trusted for the guidance and approach needed to be prepared for whatever challenges his team may face on the gridiron.

Being an effective leader and football coach like O’Neil Blake requires certain innate qualities, those so essential to the success not just of athletic squads, but of those throughout the fields of politics, business and beyond.

The Ability to Communicate

Communication is integral to any team’s success. The ability to effectively communicate not only your team’s objectives to your players, but to do so in a way that truly resonates with each individual player, and that nurtures an environment of collaboration and cooperation, is an invaluable leadership quality.

The Demonstration of Confidence

People follow those that demonstrate confidence, particularly when things don’t seem to go as planned. As one of those intangible, hard-to-define leadership traits, the demonstration of confidence in times of both success and adversity provides the steadiness and fortitude teams need to overcome obstacles and achieve success.

The Value of Commitment

O’Neil Blake, a longtime football player, knows the value of commitment, both to the team and to its ultimate objectives. Remaining steadfast in one’s commitment to the team requires leading by example; a resolution to always put your money where your mouth is and to accept any task or challenge you expect of others.
